ABOUT
Airtec Corporation, formerly known as Airtec Metal Products Company, began as a partnership on October 28, 1936 between C.A. Wines and Harold Blood. The business started in a small garage located on a side street off of West Jefferson in Detroit, Michigan. Initially, Airtec manufactured residential steel storm sash and screens.
Despite the lean years during World War II, Airtec was able to expand its product line to include screens, storm sash, and combination screens-and-guards for all types of steel and wood windows. In 1946, Airtec constructed its first building on Seven Mile Road in Detroit. Airtec's staff enjoyed the newfound amenities that came with this facility, like a restroom - which previously did not exist in the old garage. Then in 1956, Blood left the partnership, allowing Airtec to become incorporated.
By the 1970s, Airtec further established itself as a distributor with the addition of hollow metal doors, frames, hardware, and building specialties to its product mix. With this was the birth of two divisions within Airtec: Custom Fabrication & OEM. These divisions were implemented in order to amplify Airtec and its product offerings in the specialized and construction industries.
Today, Airtec Corporation is a 4th-generation, family-owned business still based in Detroit and serving the industrial, architectural, and construction industries. Our mission is to continue to deliver the same exceptional product, quality, and customer service that it has maintained for the last 85+ years.
